March 8 is International Women's Day
It’s also a time to raise awareness of the progress made towards achieving gender equality and the work remaining to be done.
The beginnings of International Women's Day
The beginnings of International Women's Day can be traced back to the early twentieth century. It emerged from the activities of labour movements in North America and Europe and reflected a growing call for women’s equal participation in society.
International Women's Day first took place on March 19, 1911, in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland. That day, over a million women and men attended public events to show their support. Other countries began to observe and celebrate this day in the years that followed.
The United Nations recognized 1975 as International Women's Year and began celebrating March 8 as International Women's Day.
International Women's Day is a day of unity, celebration, reflection, advocacy, and action and is celebrated in many countries worldwide.
Let us celebrate women - and the woman next to you!
In this context.
Diversity Days celebrating and honoring LGBTQ+ or International Men’s Day on the 19th of November - i look at these topics, relations, and values as man and as designer - and let me be 100% honest - Diversity enhances creativity and increase life at all. It encourages the search for new kind / kinds of information and understandings and perspectives, leading to better decision making and problem solving. Diversity can improve the bottom line of lives, societies, and even companies and lead to unfettered, surprising, breathtaking findings, discoveries and breakthroughs, innovations and synergy effects.
Diversity, equity and inclusion - DEI goes far beyond what you might see at first glance:
- Shared experiences are leading to more than the sum of it - as every team
- DEI provide broader perspectives, generate 'different' insights and gain global appeal - encourage and building the basement for innovation
- It nurture, foster and is building a more positive and strong workplace and add integrity to the team
