Living with Dignity & Caring for One Another - Human Experience

Image
Nothing is more significant than having compassion of another person. not a job, not money, not knowledge, and most definitely not prestige. If we want to live with dignity, we need to care for one another, listening to one another, and showing or better having understanding. I think it is important to respect people's freedom - even when they choose to terminate their lives. I do not want, so many people won't to die of a severe illness while extremely high on medications and unable to move or speak. My Experiences I have witnessed people dying this way - ending ones life by high on morphine, which does not imply a short passing of hours but rather days, weeks, or months in which the person is immobile and unable to speak. If you believe that some individuals do not suffer from this approach, you are mistaken. Medicine focuses mostly on treating medical conditions, less on psychological issues (as physicians most often only see these aspects and see at their only responsibilit...

International Human Rights Day - December 10th 2023

Image
Today, December 10th, is International Human Rights Day. Freedom of choice and self-determination regarding one's own life ending are far from being established law in many places. In Germany, this right has existed for many decades and was reaffirmed by the Federal Constitutional Court in February 2020. It is arguably the 'ultimate and last human right' and an essential prerequisite for dignified dying and living. People should also be able to arrange their death in advance, should they lose their decision-making capacity - for example, someone suffering from Alzheimer's should be able to say: "If I can no longer recognize my wife or my children, I would like a doctor to facilitate my death" I have been carrying this thought in my anticipatory care and patient decree for many years - whether it will take place as I hope, I doubt (unfortunately). I listen to critics who claim, without any basis, that vulnerable people may be pressured to opt for dying, and tha...

Human Rights Day 2022

Image
Societies that does not respect human rights - diversity, women's rights, equity, inclusion, and equality - obstructs and disables themself.  Human Rights Day is observed every year on 10 December — the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted, in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).  And especially today I think of the bravery and courage of women in situations such as those in Afghanistan and Iran, asserting and calling for their human rights in the face of seemingly insurmountable adversity, continues to inspire us. In these countries and others, women in all their diversity continue to prove that the quest for the recognition of human rights is universal, untiring and unstoppable. The Human Rights Day is an occasion to celebrate and thank everyone who is fighting and doing their best for this right - and especially those girls, women and men who tirelessly advocate for human rights, and people of all genders who defend women’s rights, LGBTQ+ right...

Why do we allow pets death with dignity but not ourselves?

Image
In many countries, there is a divisive public controversy over the moral, ethical, and legal issues of death with dignity. On the one hand, some people view 'death with dignity' as taking a life – murder – even though the person being “murdered” has little or no quality of life, they know this quality of life will get poorer, and they want to die with dignity, while they are still of a sane mind. Other people say that this sick and dying person has the right to choose to die with dignity, and that everyone has the self-determination, autonomy and dignity help-to-live and right-to-die - and that this freedom is a basic human right. First of all I want to stress that we must do anything and everything what we can do in order to improve others life, but we must not leave people alone - people who are in chronic pain, suffer pain, loosing abilities, loosing sovereignty and autonomy of their life. Yes, Our attention must be focused on life, and our efforts must be toward improving ...
