Der Tag für gewaltfreie Erziehung wird begangen am 30. April 2024. Kinder und Jugendliche haben ein Recht auf gewaltfreie Erziehung. Dieser Tag soll das Bewusstsein dafür schärfen, dass Kinder und Jugendliche ein Recht auf gewaltfreie Erziehung haben. Es ist eine Gelegenheit, überholte Erziehungssprüche positiv umzuformulieren und eine wertschätzende Kommunikation zu fördern. UNICEF Deutschland ruft dazu auf, herabwürdigende, respektlose und gewaltverharmlosende Sprache gegenüber Kindern nicht länger zu tolerieren. Lasst uns gemeinsam dafür sorgen, dass Kinder ohne körperliche oder psychische Gewalt aufwachsen und eine wertschätzende Erziehung erfahren!  Die Social Media-Kampagne wird ergänzt durch Straßenaktionen in  Augsburg,  Bremen,  Darmstadt,  Dresden,  Hannover  und vielen weiteren Städten in ganz Deutschland,  bei denen UNICEF-Engagierte gemeinsam mit Passant*innen kreative Neuformulierungen veralteter Sprüche erarbeiten. https://www.unicef.de/informieren/aktuelles/gewalt-gegen

Wenn man diesen Artikel des Tagesspiegel liest, wenn man die Aussagen der Politiker*innen liest - kann man hoffen, dass bei diesem Wissensstand es keine Neuregelung gibt die es nicht braucht und die nicht zielführend sein wird. Heute gab es einen Artikel im Tagesspiegel unter dem Titel " Abgeordnete feilen an Entwürfen: Sterbehilfe-Wirrwarr – kommt eine Neuregelung noch 2024 durch den Bundestag? Gestern, 23. April fand eine Veranstaltungen durch die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Humanes Sterben (DGHS) statt, hier mein Eindruck. Der Titel der Veranstaltung war „ Freitodbegleitung ist legal. Auch bei Demenz? “ Sehr interessant waren der Vortrag und die Erfahrungsberichte und Informationen durch Frau Dr. Marinou Arends, eine niederländische Seniorenärztin, die bis zu ihrer Pensionierung in einem Pflegeheim, vor allem in einem Pflegeheim für demente Patienten, arbeitete und auch als Beraterin und Kontrollärztin für Sterbehilfe fungierte. In den Niederlanden gibt es seit 2002 eine gesetzlich geregelte Sterbehilfe, die jedoch wie in Deutschland Freiverantwortlichkeit des Sterbewilligen voraussetzt. Frau Dr. Arends setzte und setzt sich leidenschaftlich für die Entscheidungsfreiheit der Patienten am Lebensende ein, war wegen einer Sterbehilfe auch angeklagt und wurde schließlich freigesprochen. Der Oregon Death with Dignity Act (deutsch: Gesetz des Staates Oregon über Sterben in Würde) ist ein Gesetz im US-Bundesstaat Oregon aus dem Jahr 1997. Es erlaubt einen ärztlich-assistierten Sterbehilfe und regelt die Voraussetzungen hierfür. Laut einem neu veröffentlichten Bericht (PDF) der Gesundheitsbehörde von Oregon starb im Jahr 2023 etwa eine Person pro Tag durch den Death with Dignity Act . Am Jahrestag der Schlacht von Culloden / Battle of Culloden, heute vor 278 Jahren, am 16 April 1746 ging es um Freiheit. Freiheit „ Die Freiheit des Einzelnen endet dort, wo die Freiheit des Anderen beginnt “, hat der Philosoph Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) einmal gesagt. Der Dichter Matthias Claudius (1740-1815) formuliert es so: „ Die Freiheit besteht darin, dass man alles das tun kann, was einem anderen nicht schadet. “ Zur Freiheit gehört Verantwortung. Der Mensch ist per Definition ein Wesen, das Verantwortung übernimmt, sein Handeln reflektiert und so, wie ich immer hoffe, vor dem Handeln nachdenkt, bevor er etwas tut. Freiheit und Verantwortung gehören deshalb zusammen, weil die Freiheit nie grenzenlos ist.  Die Freiheit existiert also nie absolut. Das gilt auch wenn es den Wunsch eines Freitod und Sterbehilfe geht. Dabei hat der Staat die Aufgabe, die Freiheit aller zu schützen und zugleich den Schutz aller zu gewährleisten. Ayla Eilert, a 24-year-old dancer from New York, died after suffering from an aggressive form of cancer that began with a sore on her tongue. Despite initially misdiagnosed, a biopsy revealed she had squamous cell carcinoma. Though not typically life-threatening, the cancer's location on her tongue made it more serious. Ayla underwent an 11-hour operation to remove a portion of her tongue and had subsequent chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments. However, her health rapidly deteriorated, with cancer spreading to 13 areas of her body. In immense pain and weighing just 87 pounds. Das Berliner Landgericht hat in einem aufmerksamkeitserregenden Prozess am Montag den 8.April 2024  gegen den Arzt Dr. Christoph Turowski ein Urteil gefällt. Dr. Turowski wurde wegen Totschlags zu einer Haftstrafe von drei Jahren verurteilt. Richter Mark Sautter sagte, der Arzt habe "die Grenzen des Zulässigen überschritten". Das Urteil ist nicht rechtskräftig.   Dr. Turowski wurde vom Gericht vorgeworfen, Isabell R. dazu gebracht zu haben, ein Instrument ihrer eigenen Tötung zu sein. Der verurteilte Arzt und sein Anwalt, haben angekündigt, gegen das Urteil vorzugehen. Er hatte auf Freispruch plädiert, da die betroffene Frau 16 Jahre lang psychiatrisch behandelt worden war und aus diesem Grund nicht mehr leben wollte. Vor der Urteilsverkündung hatte Turowski gehofft, dass das Prinzip "im Zweifel für den Angeklagten" zu seinen Gunsten angewandt werden würde. Er begründete dies damit, dass der psychiatrische Gutachter im Verfahren nicht definitiv ausschließen konnte,

Im April in Berlin wird nun das Urteil zu Dr. Turowski gesprochen werden. Im Februar endete das Verfahren gegen Dr. Spittler in Essen ( Arzt leistete einem psychisch kranken Mann Sterbehilfe – Urteil: Totschlag in „minderschweren Fall“ ) -  Beide Ärzte kamen vor Gericht, da sie Patienten mit psychischen Krankheiten, die den Wunsch zu sterben begründeten, bei ihrem Tod unterstützten. Beide sollen gegen den Facharztstandard zur Sicherung der Freiverantwortlichkeit verstoßen haben. Im Fall von Spittler, der Facharzt für Neurologie und Psychiatrie ist, entschied das Gericht, dass die psychische Krankheit Oliver H.'s, dem an Wahnvorstellungen litt, seinen „freien Willen“ aufhob. Daher hätte Spittler ihm keine Infusion zur Verfügung stellen dürfen, die Oliver H., wie das Gesetz es auch vorschreibt, selbst aktiviert, geöffnet hat.
