Kraft der Resilienz und Mentalen Gesundheit: Eine Motivation zum Welt-Meditations-Tag

Image
Geburtstag feiert, bringt es auf den Punkt: "When you’re a kid, you lay in the grass and watch the clouds going over, and you don’t have a thought in your mind. It’s purely meditation, and we lose that." Als Ki...

Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day . May 7th - A Call for Resilience and Kindness

Image
Children’s mental health is an essential foundation for their happiness, development, and success. On Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day, we are reminded of the critical need to support the emotional well-being of the youngest among us. Mental health deserves the same care and attention as physical health, yet it often goes overlooked or misunderstood. By open conversations about emotions and resilience within our families and communities, we can empower children to navigate their feelings and the inevitable challenges of life with confidence and strength. Positive mental health is not just about the absence of struggle—it’s about fostering tools for self-esteem, inner resilience, and emotional regulation. For children, receiving encouragement and learning strategies for managing their mental well-being can be transformational. Inspirational quotes offer a simple yet powerful way to communicate these values and lessons. They hold timeless wisdom that transcends age and provide chil...

Loss is nothing else but change, and change is Nature’s delight. (Marcus Aurelius)

Image
Life is challenging - if it would not be challenging - I firmly believe life would be boring. I have and everyone has power over my / their mind (in most cases - and if not it's OK as well) ... but I do not and nobody has this power regarding outside events. Realise this, and you will find serenity, patience, and resilience - at least I believe so. Behaviours, beliefs, values, biases and perceptions of other people are outside the reach of our control, and as such they are things that we need to learn to accept. My understanding and learning of life is that we can’t escape these things, we can’t escape contact with people we disagree with, we can’t escape people we find rude or abrasive, all we can do is learn to accept them so that they lessen the impact on our peace of mind, while at the same time working on developing ourselves to act in a way that aligns with who we want to be. These thoughts came to my mind while I have to deal once again with lost, suizid events next to me an...

Finding the Courage to let go of What You Can't Change - Being a Stoic

Image
Situations that are out of our control and / or cannot be changed - are challenging - but obstinately fighting or trying to change them most often all in all causes will only causes pain and frustration. As ... surprise they are out of our control and / or cannot be changed. Letting go is not giving up - it is part of awareness and self-awareness - Letting go stands for gaining deeper understanding and acceptance of yourself - it is part of recognizing our own needs and values, and gaining insight into what really matters in life for you and as well for yours. So when we have the courage to let go of the things that cannot be changed, we open a new door for ourselves to greater happiness and growth. We learned to accept it, focus on what we could control, and create a better future for yourself. “ Patience you must have, my young Padawan, ” says Yoda once to Luke Skywalker. And I am pretty sure we all know the serenity prayer: “ God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I can...

I do not fear death (continuation of ... don't be afraid of dying, be afraid of never living)

Image
I do and we all should accept death as inevitable. I do not fear death. On the one hand that is likely due to my strong belief in an afterlife - I will meet my wife, all my dogs, our horses and cat and all nice people on the 'other side' - for me it is a small house at the Klondike. And on the other hand - I guess that the fear of death follows from the fear of life. A wo/man who lives fully, lived honesty to her/himself is prepared to pass away at any time - that's how I lived and live. So many people are so wrapped up in the material things in life that they frequently overlook the most important moments in their lives - and joy and happiness . Don’t be afraid to live life to the fullest because life is short and things might change ahead of schedule or quicker than one prefer or expect. Instead of living in the past or in regrets ( as I outlined a few days ago ), enjoy what is now. Allow yourself to be satisfied with what makes you happy. It is not a good idea to let oth...

The power of loving your mistakes

Image
Getting something wrong is the best way to learn - yes, you read that right. It may not be the most comfortable or intuitive idea or thought as you frantically prep for exams and work, but research now supports the theory that the more mistakes you make, the better you are learning. Learning and growth in one's life, either personal or professional, is an inevitable, and ongoing process from the very first second to the last in our lives.  Trial-and-error learning involves learning from consequences of one's behavior. Some of the consequences will be mistakes. It is also logically possible to learn from others' mistakes, provided one knows the constituent inputs that led to a given mistake - and that is as well part, an important part of team play and society - but we have to make mistakes on our own. Look at ourselves and say again and again it is OK to make mistakes. I have made such a lot of mistakes throughout my life. Some of those mistakes were caused by me not knowin...

Strengthen Mental Health and Stress Recovery - Applying R.E.S.T.

Image
Resilience isn’t just a buzzword — it’s a vital part of mental health and emotional well-being. In the world of mental health care, we now recognize that treatment and support aren't only about managing symptoms; they're also about   building the inner strength to cope, adapt, and recover . Whether you’re navigating personal stress, supporting others, or working in a high-pressure environment, resilience acts like a protective shield — helping you bounce back from setbacks and stay grounded through life’s challenges. But how do we build resilience in everyday life? One simple, science-backed framework I often come back to is  R.E.S.T.  — a four-part guide to nourishing your mind and body when life feels overwhelming. Let’s explore what R.E.S.T. means and how you can use it to strengthen your resilience, one small habit at a time. R.E.S.T.: A Simple Framework for Building Resilience In today’s fast-paced world, stress is inevitable — but burnout doesn’t have to be. The dif...

Go Your Chosen Path as far as you want, can, ...

Image
My stoic mantra ... Go as far as you can. When you get there You will see how it goes on. Your path and purpose will become clear and become yours - when you begin to trust yourself. The path - your path is the destination. Live your life for you with self-awareness, trust und confidence You have to trust in yourself - trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, good in others ... whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life. When you look to the past, don't sit and dwell on your regrets. Instead, focus on the things you learned from each experience and how they may enrich your future. Use the past not as something to hold you back, but as a method for reaffirming the drive to move forward on your chosen path. Live your life for you and not to please expectations Social pressure is deceiving - we all become influenced without noticing it. Before we realize we lost control of our lives, we end up envying how other people li...

Find Love and Peace - Finding yourself

Image
In the recent weeks I had to learn again - or let me phrase it that way - life reminds me that nobody cannot protect themself from sadness without protecting themself from happiness. So be happy having happy moments and accept and deal with the sad ones. Don’t waste your time in anger, regrets, worries, grudges and grief. Don't be pushed around by the tears and fears in your mind. Life is too short to be unhappy. Be led by the dreams and the love in your heart. Never let the expectations and opinions of other people affect your decisions. It's your life, not theirs. Do what matters most to you; do what feels good for you, do what makes you feel alive and happy.  Sure you should take the expectations and ideas of others into account - but they should never ever limit who you are or who you want to be. And never ever let others tell you who you are. There is more to life than pleasing people or society. All too often it's the case that there is so much more to life than what ...
