Spiritual Thoughts on Fireflies

Image
Fireflies are not just beautiful creatures of nature; they are also carriers of deep spiritual meanings. For me, they embody the essence of my deceased wife, who chose her own path to eternity four years ago. On the night after her burial, under the tree that serves as her final resting place, countless fireflies danced like living stars in the darkness. This year, there were a few less, but it was no less moving for me. It was as if nature itself was sending a message – a message of light and hope, of life and love that endures beyond death. Fireflies are symbols of hope that shine in the darkest night. They remind me that even in the most difficult moments, when grief is at its greatest, there is always a spark of light to guide us. Just as these small, glowing beings radiate in the darkness, so too does the love of my wife continue to shine, lighting my heart and guiding me through the night. Fireflies are also a symbol of transformation and change. Just as they themselves transform...

What a Pencil Can Teach Us About Mental Health

Image
The National Pencil Day is on March 30th or 31st and it is the perfect time to explore these old writing tools and to remember - also what a pencil could teach us, even about inner values. This simple instrument has meant so much to mankind. It allows people to express themselves, helps them to let their creativity run wild and supports all kinds of doodling and scribbling. Did you know that a pencil can write up to about 45,000 words? Have you ever thought about what kind of images and emotions a pencil can give us? How many hands have held the pencil - or rather the pencil was held? Pencils have been in use for a long time and have undergone many changes in their design, changing themselves, and also changing the world, changing us. This is a tale by - Paulo Coelho  A boy was watching his grandmother write a letter. At one point, he asked: ‘Are you writing about me?’ His grandmother stopped writing her letter and said to her grandson: ‘I am writing about you, actually, but more i...

The Past is often like the Darkness between Fireflies - and the Fireflies are the Memories

Image
As my wife planned her death  - she asked to pass away before summer solstice and been  interred on the day of  summer solstice - and she remind me that the fireflies will always fly and shine around these days of remembrance - fireflies  emerge in early summer anywhere from the third week in May to the third week in June. And now the fireflies remind me of my love - my love of my life. Fireflies have been known to indicate luck , love , brightness , vitality , and even death .  As fireflies only live for a short period (just about a couple of months). They symbolizes how short life is so we should always try to live our lives to the fullest extent . And on the other hand fireflies might remind us that often the small, simple things in life can make us happy, and make a moment great.  They inspire us to take a moment to slow down, ground ourselves in the moment, and appreciate all the things and people who and that surrounds us. This is a picture...

Grieving - How to deal with 'days of remembrance'

Image
The day, the hour and minute my wife decided to pass away - the day, hour and minute she did it and when she was buried I will never ever forget. I know the word 'anniversary' is the one we use for such days - but in this context of dying, I do not like it - as I connect the word 'anniversary' with joy and fun - positive events. That's why I prefer the words: 'day of remembrance' Grief is a natural response to loss - and if you really loved someone, something - grief will stay as long as you remember the loved one - and that is OK. In the first days, the pain of loss can feel overwhelming. You may experience all kinds of difficult and unexpected emotions, from shock or anger to disbelief, guilt, and profound sadness.Whatever type of loss you’ve suffered, there’s no right or wrong way of grieving - and a mixture or selection of these feelings will come up from time to time. from experiences to experiences even after years - and this OK as well. Plan ahead for...
