Trees - Symbol of Trust, Confidence, and Faith

I already mentioned here and there in my articles that I am thinking in pictures.

Depending on the context - when I am thinking about trust, confidence, faith, trustfulness, and resilience - I do have trees in my mind.

It might sound strange or crazy - but perhaps you can understand it in a metaphorical sense - when I say a forest is like a group of people and trees like brothers and sisters. And an appropriate image to symbolize humanity: We too stand tall on this earth and stretch our arms to heaven.

At the same time, trees make us aware of how small, fading and partly changing a person's lifespan is. Trees can connect us to time and the horizon. Trees give us a sense of timelessness and connect us to the past. The tree in the changing of the seasons symbolizes our own life story of becoming and passing away.

For me, trees have always been a kind of / or mixture of a companion, calm anchor or call it guardian.

In the highest crowns of trees, the world rustles, their roots rest stable in the ground; but they do not lose themselves there, they struggle with all the force of their lives - may come storm, heavy rain - for one thing only: to fulfill themselves according to their own laws, to build up their own form, to represent themselves. Trees are a great example of ‘being unique’ whether they are part of a ‘team’ of a family -  they live in tribes and families, in forests and groves - nothing is more exemplary than a beautiful, strong tree. Or if they stand alone - like lonely people. Never like hermits who have stolen away out of some weakness, but like great, solitary men, a little bit like a hero.

When a tree is notched, cut, or cut down and show its slice of the tree or trunk - reveals its wound to the people - one can read its whole history in the luminous, inscribed disk of its trunk: in the rings of its years, its scars, all the struggle, all the suffering, all the sickness, all the happiness and prosperity stand truly written, the narrow years and the luxurious years, the attacks withstood, the storms endured.

Sure, we can talk to trees, but we should not really await a complex answer - but we can and should listen to them - the tree will tell us its insides and experience of strength, patience, perseverance, persistence, and resilience

Trees neither know their fathers nor their thousand children that every year spring out of them. Each tree will live out the secret of their seeds to the very end. I trust that God is in me. I trust that my labor is holy. Out of this trust I live.

When a tree is logged and cut down then a tree has something to say to us: Life is not easy, life is not difficult. Coming to life - growing and dying is all part of life - don’t be anxious because your path leads away from mother and home. Home is neither here nor there.
Home is within you, or home is nowhere at all.

Every path leads homeward, every step is birth, every step is death.

As my wife and I always saw ans see trees as symbol of trust, confidence, and faith my wife and I decided to rest in a forest.
