Hermann Hesse's "Steppenwolf", "Siddhartha" or "Narcissus and Goldmund"

Today I like to remind on Hermann Hesse - 145 years ago today, the writer, poet and painter was born.

He wrote 3 books which influenced and still influence my own awareness, and how I see the world and people. Hermann Hesse's "Steppenwolf", "Siddhartha" or "Narcissus and Goldmund" tell of identity crises and how to cope with them. Hermann Hesse's descriptions of the experience of the protagonists, of not being understood hit and continue to strike my soul and heart – and I am pretty sure of many readers as well.

The focus in each of the books is turning on young persons self-liberation from family and social heteronomy - to find themself and lead an independent life. The elementary question about the meaning of life. The meaning of life, or the answer to the question: "What is the meaning of life?"and many other related questions include: "Why are we here?", "What is life all about?", or "What is the purpose of existence?". Some people say that their basic structure are the same, but I like them all.
