I do not fear death (continuation of ... don't be afraid of dying, be afraid of never living)

Image
I do and we all should accept death as inevitable. I do not fear death. On the one hand that is likely due to my strong belief in an afterlife - I will meet my wife, all my dogs, our horses and cat and all nice people on the 'other side' - for me it is a small house at the Klondike. And on the other hand - I guess that the fear of death follows from the fear of life. A wo/man who lives fully, lived honesty to her/himself is prepared to pass away at any time - that's how I lived and live. So many people are so wrapped up in the material things in life that they frequently overlook the most important moments in their lives - and joy and happiness . Don’t be afraid to live life to the fullest because life is short and things might change ahead of schedule or quicker than one prefer or expect. Instead of living in the past or in regrets ( as I outlined a few days ago ), enjoy what is now. Allow yourself to be satisfied with what makes you happy. It is not a good idea to let oth...

The Past is often like the Darkness between Fireflies - and the Fireflies are the Memories

Image
As my wife planned her death  - she asked to pass away before summer solstice and been  interred on the day of  summer solstice - and she remind me that the fireflies will always fly and shine around these days of remembrance - fireflies  emerge in early summer anywhere from the third week in May to the third week in June. And now the fireflies remind me of my love - my love of my life. Fireflies have been known to indicate luck , love , brightness , vitality , and even death .  As fireflies only live for a short period (just about a couple of months). They symbolizes how short life is so we should always try to live our lives to the fullest extent . And on the other hand fireflies might remind us that often the small, simple things in life can make us happy, and make a moment great.  They inspire us to take a moment to slow down, ground ourselves in the moment, and appreciate all the things and people who and that surrounds us. This is a picture...

Ways to Enjoy Life - How to Live in the Moment + Enjoy the Present

Image
My life changed since my wife died. And since then I wonder and explore ways to be happy alone and live a full life   Consequently , I felt and partly still feel that I have also lost my purpose and, certainly - if I like or not, I'm confused about what role I might play in the world going forward. For example, I am no longer a husband, but I still feel like one. Through my fog of grief, it was nearly impossible to envision a life without my wife by my side. So came the question: “What do I do now?” compounded by the inevitable one of: “Who am I now?” While I had to and one may have to figure out “what to do” rather quickly, figuring out the “who you are now” is usually a slow process. Consequently , I discovered the dynamics of old time friendships began to shift. I had the luck that only a few friends seemed to fall by the wayside – a few because they feel uncomfortable with the situation. Keep in mind that change is not a dirty word - each's life is full of changes! I...

Pippi Longstocking Turns 80 - A Role Model for Autonomy

Image
The topic of empowering young girls and embracing diversity in shaping societal norms is vitally important. The stories and characters that influence our children can have profound impacts on how they see the world and themselves. It is for this reason that I hold Pippi Longstocking's legacy close to my heart, as she continues to inspire and teach invaluable lessons about bravery, independence, and the celebration of one's unique self. Pippi Longstocking Turns 80 - A Role Model for Autonomy, Strength, and Diverse Society Today, we celebrate 80 years of Pippi Longstocking – more formally known as Pippilotta Viktualia Rullgardina Krusmynta Efraimsdotter Långstrump 😆. From her inception, Pippi was a literary revolution. At a time when girls were often ...

International Day of the Girl Child 2024

Image
The theme for the 2024 International Day of the Girl is ‘Girls’ Vision for the Future.’ This powerful theme underscores the urgent need for action, interwoven with a profound sense of hope, fueled by the voices and dreams of girls everywhere.  A person, everyone with a dream becomes a person with a vision. Everyone has the right to dream, the power to achieve, and the courage to change the world. Let’s create a world where every girl is safe, educated, and empowered. It's all about Gender Equality - Women and girls make up half of the world's population and therefore half of its potential. Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but also essential to achieving peaceful societies with full human potential and sustainable development. Additionally, empowering women has been shown to increase productivity and economic growth. Think about these numbers ... Globally, girls aged 5-14 spend 40% more time, or 160 million more hours a day, on unpaid care and domest...

Je ne regrette rien - I don't regret anything - Ich bereue nichts

Life's trials will test everyone, one or two more than others and vice versa, and shape us, but don’t let defiances, challenges and disappointments change who you are. What ever you do - do it with all with heart and soul, passion and joy. In my view I can only say life needs to be interesting, joyful and lived with passion because we've probably only got one of them to live. I am sure it was not, it will not be a masterpiece, but I only got this one canvas. And I will use all colors, all pencils, brushes or even I only get stones, I will draw my picture. I often my solo-motorcycle tour from New York to San Francisco or my solo-tour through Scotland. I met during all of my pauses, breakfasts or lunch-breaks, so many strangers heard so many stories - sometimes ordinary, but most often personally emotional stories or aspects It was in those quiet little towns and places, at the 'edge of the world', at small locations along the loneliest street / highway (Nevada’s Highway ...

Human Rights Day 2022

Image
Societies that does not respect human rights - diversity, women's rights, equity, inclusion, and equality - obstructs and disables themself.  Human Rights Day is observed every year on 10 December — the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted, in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).  And especially today I think of the bravery and courage of women in situations such as those in Afghanistan and Iran, asserting and calling for their human rights in the face of seemingly insurmountable adversity, continues to inspire us. In these countries and others, women in all their diversity continue to prove that the quest for the recognition of human rights is universal, untiring and unstoppable. The Human Rights Day is an occasion to celebrate and thank everyone who is fighting and doing their best for this right - and especially those girls, women and men who tirelessly advocate for human rights, and people of all genders who defend women’s rights, LGBTQ+ right...
